Can I receice treatment while taking a photo-sensitizing medication, like an antibiotic?"Drug induced photosensitivity is caused by the reaction of the chemical (mediation) to light. Most reactions occur when the skin is exposed to UVA and UVB rays (sunlight). Cynosure’s laser and light based devices do not emit these wavelengths. We can proceed with caution and perform test spots prior to treatment to determine suitability

Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?Laser hair removal is sometimes over promised as being “permanent” and that “you will never have to shave, wax, tweeze, etc.” ever again . But this is not accurate . What we can expect from laser hair removal treatments is 70% – 80% of hair reductions . Additionally, over time, your body will develop new hair follicles, so new hair growth will occur. This is why it’s recommended that after the initial 6 treatments, you undergo maintenance treatments every 4-6 months so that new hairs are targeted.
-
Is Elite safe for darker skin tones?Yes!! Elite has a dual system with Alexandrine and Nd:yag Laser. Nd:Yag Laser has a wavelenght of 1065nm and has a weaker melanin absorption rate, and longer wavelengths which make it safe to use on dark skin tones.
-
Can I wax in between treatments? No. Laser works by targeting the hair in the follicles . Waxing will remove the hair from the follicle, leaving no target for your next laser treatment. This may also disrupt the growth cycle of the hair and render your laser treatments less effective. You can shave or trim in between sessions
-
How long do I need to wait between treatments ?The session should be done every 4-8 weeks depending on the area being lasered and your hair growth cycle. Your Laser technician will provide you with instructions after your service.
